A Shoku caused by Keiki
Shoku (蝕) are magical storms that connects the Twelve Kingdoms to the lands of Hourai (Japan) and Kan (China). The storms occur naturally, but are extremely damaging to the world it impacts.
Kirin and highly ranked sages are capable of summoning shoku to cross between the worlds, though individuals with greater levels of divinity will create larger shoku. As a result, the consequence of bringing rulers across the Void Sea tends to result in severe damage.
Additionally, kirin are capable of invoking smaller shoku known as meishoku (鳴蝕)[1] under extreme stress or danger.
